Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi privately told President Joe Biden in a recent conversation that polling shows the president cannot defeat Donald Trump, CNN writes, referring to its sources.
Biden, in turn, told Pelosi he had seen polls that indicated he could win.
None of the sources indicated whether Pelosi told Biden in this conversation that she believes the president should drop out of the 2024 race.
“President Biden is the nominee of the party. He plans to win and looks forward to working with congressional Democrats,” White House Spokesperson Andrew Bates said.
