Former U.S. president, now presidential candidate Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social page about his telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling the conversation “a very good phone call.”
“President Zelenskyy of Ukraine and I had a very good phone call earlier today. He congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and becoming the Republican nominee for President of the United States,” Trump wrote.
According to the former U.S. president, if he wins the election, he “will bring peace to the world and end the war.”
“Both sides will be able to come together and negotiate a deal that ends the violence and paves a path forward to prosperity,” Trump noted.
Zelenskyy, in turn, wrote on X that they agreed on a future personal meeting with Trump to discuss steps toward peace.
