Microsoft’s global outage affects large companies

A global outage impacting computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system has affected major airlines, television and banking services, Forbes writes.

The outage has been blamed on a software update by cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike.

Microsoft said it is aware of the issue and noted it is affecting systems running CrowdStrike’s Falcon security software.

Nearly all major American carriers have been forced to temporarily ground all their flights due to the outage. It also affected the operation of the London Stock Exchange, banks and payment terminals in Australia.
