Children from Musaler village hospitalized; Updates

Children from the school named after Franz Werfel in the village of Musaler in Armavir Province, have been hospitalized, presenting with symptoms of poisoning. Vagharshapat Medical Center representative said this to ABC Media.

As stated, the children are currently under medical supervision, but the causes of poisoning are still unknown.

School Principal Naira Svaryan told ABC Media that seven children have been admitted to hospital.

“The police are here at the moment, but the number of hospitalized children is not 15. I read the news and was surprised. The children began to cough, we quickly evacuated everyone and opened the windows. Those who felt unwell, were given first aid,” Svaryan said.

She says one of the children, who has been hospitalized, has heart problems.

“One of the children is from Lebanon. We took him to hospital by ambulance. Another child, who was also taken to hospital, has asthma. The other children were taken to hospital by their parents. They are all fine now; they were poisoned, but the cause is unknown. Gas service employees came, checked and said carbon monoxide was not found. The police are here with cameras, trying to identify the causes,” she said.
