Turkish Foreign Ministry denies news about Erdogan-Assad possible meeting
The information that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Moscow is not true, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey said in a statement.
“The news that our president will have a meeting with the Syrian president in Moscow is not true,” reads the statement.
Earlier, referring to its source, the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah reported that Erdogan and Assad might meet in Moscow in August. According to the source, Russian President Vladimir Putin acted as a mediator.
