Armenia can play a pivotal role with regard to the
North–South Transport Corridor. Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development
Mehrdad Bazrpash said this to the press.
According to the official, Iran does approve of the idea of
the “Zangezur corridor” propagated by Azerbaijan.
“Our political line is anchored in peace in the Caucasus. We
condemn any kind of foreign interference. The countries of the region will
themselves manage to make the best decisions,” the minister said, noting that
Iran has always supported Armenia’s territorial integrity and will continue to
do so.
