US State Department: There is nothing better to improve the lives of the people of the South Caucasus region than the establishment of a just peace

The U.S. has brought its relations with Armenia to a strategic level to prevent “Russia’s evil intentions toward the South Caucasus and to improve the vitality of Armenia”, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Huck said at the meeting of Congressional Democrats of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

“We do two things in the State Department: First, we support the achievement of a just and stable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Secretary of State Blinken just met with the foreign ministers of the two countries. There is nothing better to improve the lives of the people of the South Caucasus region than the establishment of a just peace. Therefore, we are now making efforts in that direction,” Huck said.

Alexander Sokolovsky, the USAID deputy director, explained that over the past three years, the U.S. has practically doubled the “aid” being provided to Armenia.
