The EU allocated €1.5 billion from the frozen Russian assets to provide military and financial assistance to Ukraine, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen wrote on X.
“Today we transfer €1.5 billion in proceeds from immobilised Russian assets to the defence and reconstruction of Ukraine,” von der Leyen noted.
