WHO introduces virtual health worker operating on generative AI
The World Health Organization (WHO) introduced a prototype of a digital health promoter, called S.A.R.A.H. She is available 24/7 in eight languages via video or text, the WHO says.
Sarah is aimed to help people lead a healthier life; she can provide tips to destress, eat right, quit tobacco and e-cigarettes, as well as give information on several other health topics, but is not designed to give medical advice.
Using cutting edge technology, Sarah has helped fight misinformation about COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. She now also provides information across major health topics, including mental health, and can share tips to prevent some of the biggest causes of death in the world including cancer, heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes.
She uses generative AI as a base and has also been trained with information from the World Health Organization and trusted partners.
