Bangladesh to have interim government as prime minister resigns
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on Monday, Reuters writes.
Earlier, Prothom Alo Daily reported that Hasina flew to India in a military helicopter. She and her sister left their residence in Dhaka to seek refuge in a safer place. According to News18 TV channel, Hasina flew to Finland.
To remind, there have been anti-government demonstrations and riots in Bangladesh for several days; as a result, more than 300 people have died.
The Bangladesh Army chief general said that after the prime minister’s resignation, the country will have an interim government.
