The French ambassador to Armenia has again been the target of a disinformation campaign. A screenshot obtained by Intelligence Online indicates the ambassador’s phone may have been hacked by Israeli NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware. According to the website, this destabilization operation forms part of a broader stand-off between France and Azerbaijan.
To remind, “after the exposure of Azerbaijan’s hand” in the May 2024 New Caledonia protests, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev promised to sponsor separatism among other French territories across the globe.
Azerbaijan blames Paris for taking a pro-Armenian stance and selling arms to Armenia.
