Ukraine is facing a threat of a bread shortage, Ukrainian Minfin reported on Wednesday, after a conversation with experts. “There is a real danger of a bread shortage in Ukraine,” reads the statement.
Yury Duchenko, the president of the All-Ukrainian Association of Bakers and the director of “Kyiv Bread” company, said that over the past few months, the prices of pastry raw materials in Ukraine have increased significantly, flour has risen in price by 50%, and other ingredients have also increased in value by about 20%. In the conditions of energy shortage, the costs of equipment are constantly increasing, and the cost of logistics is also increasing.
