Why have frequent power outages become common in Yerevan?

Power outages in Yerevan have become common and frequent. There are administrative districts, for example, Davtashen, where electricity is sometimes cut off for longer than the maximum four hours stipulated by law. Frequent power outages create serious problems for people’s everyday lives—from expensive appliances going out of order to food preparation difficulties and hygienic issues. People consider all this impossible without electricity. Marjanyan says frequent outages have several reasons.
