Israel and Palestine to meet on ceasefire
Israel will send negotiators on Aug. 15 for a meeting aimed to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.
“At the suggestion of the United States and mediators, Israel will send a group for negotiations on Aug. 15 to agree on the details of the agreement implementation, but the venue for negotiations is not yet known,” reads the statement.
Earlier, Egypt, Qatar and the U.S. called on Israel and Palestinian Hamas to resume discussions on the ceasefire on Aug. 14-15. The leaders of the three countries said that they are ready to submit a final proposal to reach a deal.
