Red Cross teams help few in Artsakh (video)

ICRC teams are visiting different settlements in Artsakh to
provide assistance to the people left behind after the displacement of the
population.

“Few people remain there in their homes, either of their own
accord or because they were unable to leave on their own. Some are in need of
medical assistance or food and water supplies. Others ask to help them contact
their family members or to provide them with means of transport to leave,” the
ICRC notes.

The teams maintain contact with the few residents who remain
in their homes. In the meantime, new people are being found.

“A man approached the ICRC team. He lives with his
92-year-old father in a rather remote mountainous village. He did not know that
so many people had left the region; he had not watched TV or listened to radio
because of power outages persisting for weeks,” the ICRC said.

“When people were fleeing, I could not leave with my dad, as
he is a fairly old man. Thank God you came here, and we got some information
about the current state of affairs,” the man said.
