The unblocking of transport links in the South Caucasus is
the key element of Yerevan’s rapprochement. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson
Maria Zakharova said this.
She noted that the working group of the Russian, Armenian
and Azerbaijani deputy prime ministers deals with the issue.
According to Zakharova, the group has held 12 meetings; rail
and road lines have been closely studied.
“Mutual understanding has been reached to take practical
steps for the restoration and organization of railway services on the
Yeraskh-Julfa-Meghri-Horadiz route. We proceed from the necessity of commitment
to reciprocity, and mutual respect, and from the sovereignty of both
countries,” Zakharova added.
