Negotiations of strengthening relations with the EU and a visa-free regime establishment are Armenia’s sovereign decision; it was not discussed with Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
“Russia does not see negative aspects or the impact of such negotiations on the visa-free regime between Russia and Armenia. But there is one thing: Such generosity of Westerners, especially in the present geopolitical realities, should be taken with caution,” Zakharova noted.
According to her, promises of a visa-free regime are mere acts of opportunism and manipulation— attempts to provoke a geopolitical confrontation in the region.
