For destabilizing the situation in Venezuela, three U.S. nationals, two Spaniards and one Czech national were arrested.
Venezuelan Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace Diosdado Cabello said at a press conference that the suspects were also planning to kill President Nicolás Maduro and other high-ranking officials.
“They contacted French mercenaries, mercenaries from Eastern Europe, and were engaged in an attack on our country,” Cabello said, adding that law enforcement officers also seized 400 firearms.
