The situation regarding the U.S. sanctions against Russian mass media is remarkable; such actions are not justified at all, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
“The situation today is not the most common. Yesterday, Russian journalists were subjected to aggression in the U.S. They were subjected to a real terror information attack—both as corporations and as individuals,” Zakharova said at the BRICS media summit.
“Besides the hideous, unsubstantiated political statements that Washington made yesterday about mass media, physical aggression is being used against the journalists,” Zakharova noted.
