Heavy rains have caused great floods in the south of Poland; the army is engaged in rescue operations.

“A critical night is ahead; full mobilization is needed,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.

According to local media, the Nisa Bistrica river has overflowed its banks in Klodzko. The entrances to the city were closed, and several hundred residents were evacuated.

About 4,000 military personnel are engaged in rescue operations. There have been no reports about victims yet.
