At a press conference, President-elect of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum, who will take office on Oct. 1, rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s invitation to visit the country. According to her, the task of the head of state is to rule Mexico, so trips to other countries are not a priority, Excelsior reports.
“In my case, the main task is to rule Mexico. We will attend some international events, which we consider important, but we will not travel much because our responsibility lies here,” Sheinbaum noted.
She added that Mexico will continue to pursue the line of foreign policy defined by the Constitution, which is very simple, dignified and peaceful. In particular, the country will not interfere in external affairs but will continue to adhere to the peaceful settlement of conflicts.
