Fidan: If Turkey were accepted as a full member of the EU, it would not be in search of BRICS
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan addressed questions related to Turkey’s policy regarding the European Union (EU) and BRICS during a live broadcast, Ermenihaber writes.
“If our economic integration with the EU was crowned with membership—now it is at the level of the Customs Union—or if it was crowned with membership higher than that, we might not be in such a search on a number of issues,” the Turkish foreign minister said.
Fidan stated that Turkey is trying to continue relations with the EU and added that the negotiations between Ankara and Brussels have reached a dead end over time.
Referring to BRICS, the Turkish foreign minister stated, “If Turkey were accepted as a full member of the EU, it would not be in search of BRICS.”
