Today, Vagif Khachatryan’s trial is beginning, APA reports.
Azerbaijan abducted Khachatryan from the Lachin corridor
this July.
As APA notes, 59 people have suffered in connection with
Khachatryan’s case. Today, the names of the accused and those of the 59 victims
will be established as well.
To remind, Vagif Khachatryan was abducted from the ICRC
vehicle at the checkpoint in the Lachin corridor in late July. Azerbaijan
accuses Khachatryan of having committed a number of serious crimes, including
“the armed attack on the village of Meshali in 1991, as a result of which 25
Azerbaijanis were killed”.
Stepanakert called these accusations false, claiming that
“such a crime was never committed in the village of Meshali”.
