The German authorities violate the Schengen Agreement by introducing additional border controls, Kosma Zlotowski, a member of the European Parliament from Poland, said. In his address to the European Commission, the MP referred to the provisions of the Agreement on the EU activities, Lenta.ru writes.
Zlotowski talked about the decision that guarantees the free movement and residence of EU citizens in other countries. He asked the European Commission a number of questions regarding the economic consequences of the restrictions imposed by Germany.
Earlier, Deputy Minister-President of Brandenburg Michael Stübgen had demanded that the EU strengthen control along all borders with Hungary.
