Chemical plant catches fire in US Georgia causing evacuation

A fire broke out in a chemical plant in the U.S. state of Georgia; residents are being evacuated from the areas adjacent to the fire, local authorities report on X.

The authorities called on the residents south of the plant to leave the settlements.

According to CNN, the fire broke out on the roof of the building. Firefighters managed to put out the fire at first, but it flared up again a few hours later.
