Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has published an
article entitled ‘The Complete Observance of the Principles of the U.N. Charter
and Interdependence is the Key to International Peace and Stability’.
Among other issues, the Russian Foreign Minister referred to
the situation in Artsakh and the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Lavrov noted that U.S. and EU interference in the relations
between Azerbaijan and Armenia causes instability. “Brussels, harboring
geopolitical ambitions, imposes its “mediation services” on Azerbaijan and
Armenia, thereby destabilizing the South Caucasus with Washington.
“Now, after the leaders of Yerevan and Baku have settled the
issue of recognition of the sovereignty of the two countries, it is time to
establish peace and build up trust. The Russian peacekeeping contingent is
ready to contribute to this in every way possible,” Lavrov said.
He noted that the Russian peacekeeping contingent based in
Nagorno-Karabakh is ready to help establish peace in the South Caucasus.
