Florida has not yet fully recovered from the effects of Hurricane Helene, and a new threat is approaching the state’s shores—powerful Hurricane Milton.
The storm has already reached Category 5—the highest according to the Saffir-Simpson scale.
According to a map posted on the National Hurricane Center’s website, Milton is currently moving northeast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. The hurricane is expected to make landfall in Florida late Wednesday, Oct. 9.
