Pashinyan: There is justice in the Republic of Armenia

Today, Nikol Pashinyan gave a speech at the event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the formation of the Investigative Committee. The key points of Pashinyan’s speech can be found below:

  • Yes, I specifically use the expression “to do justice” for two significant reasons. First, because I think that justice is one of the primary demands of the people’s nonviolent velvet revolution that brought me and our political team to power, and second, unfortunately, we cannot say that the Armenian citizens have a sense of justice in the Republic of Armenia.

  • In fact, we have created all the prerequisites for institutional establishment. And now I am saying not only on behalf of the Government, not only on behalf of the parliamentary majority, but also on behalf of the people of the Republic of Armenia that we don’t have much time to instill the feeling among the Armenian citizens that there is justice in the Republic of Armenia, that there is a legal system in the Republic of Armenia, that everyone is equal before the law in the Republic of Armenia, that there are no privileged people in the Republic of Armenia, no matter if they are representatives of former or incumbent authorities, and that in the Republic of Armenia, law, legality, legal system and justice are not just words uttered in speeches, but they are a fact and reality.

  • Having held the position of the prime minister of the Republic of Armenia for more than six years, I will say that the agenda of establishing justice in the Republic of Armenia is as urgent now as it was in 2018 or 2019. But this does not mean that we have not done anything in this regard.
