Russia to attend 3+3 format meeting in Turkey
The Russian side has confirmed the participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the meeting of the 3+3 platform scheduled for Oct. 18 in Istanbul, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Kemal Bozay confirmed their commitment to cooperation, taking into account Ankara’s presidency of the regional 3+3 platform.
The Russian diplomatic service noted that there was also an exchange of viewpoints on issues of mutual interest regarding the conflict over Ukraine and the situation in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
Earlier, it became known that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will attend the third meeting of the 3+3 regional consultation platform.
To remind, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed hope that the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Iran will participate in the 3+3 platform meeting to be held on Oct. 18 in Istanbul.
