The first component parts of the American THAAD anti-missile defense system have arrived in Israel. The delivery was carried out amid tensions between Iran and Israel.
Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh announced on Tuesday, Oct. 15, that the decision was made both to strengthen Israel’s defense and to protect Americans from a possible Iranian attack.
The Pentagon said it would send additional THAAD components and personnel and that the system would be operational “in the near future.”
American media reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had informed U.S. President Joe Biden about an impending attack on Iranian military facilities.
