In 3+3 meeting Fidan to discuss Turkey’s efforts toward peace and stability in South Caucasus

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will participate in the meeting on the margins of the 3+3 consultation platform to be held in Ankara on Oct. 18, Turkish media reports.

The meeting will assess the steps toward establishing stability and prosperity instead of war and conflicts in the region, and will discuss specific cooperation programs, including the strengthening of regional ties.

At the meeting, where thoughts will be exchanged on important regional and international developments, Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan will refer to Turkey’s efforts to establish peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

It is also expected that Fidan will announce that Turkey supports the ongoing peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and that the process of normalization of relations has also begun between Turkey and Armenia.

In addition, Fidan is expected to emphasize the importance of economic sectors as means of building confidence, placing particular emphasis on communications and economic integration.

Within the framework of the meeting, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will receive the invited ministers, while Fidan will have bilateral meetings with his colleagues.
