International Relations expert on American Armenians not supporting anyone in US elections: During Trump’s tenure, Artsakh was attacked, while under the Biden/Harris administration it was depopulated
One fact is undeniable. During Trump’s tenure, Artsakh was attacked, while under the Biden/Harris administration it was depopulated, expert of International Relations Suren Sargsyan wrote on Facebook.
“All this attracted criticism not only from the U.S., but also from the international community, but absolutely no clear action was taken. This is one of the reasons why American Armenian organizations do not officially support any of the U.S. presidential candidates,” Sargsyan wrote.
According to the expert, however, the statements and stances of the candidates are significant. They lay the groundwork for working with any candidate in the future to advance the Armenian agenda, including the recognition and condemnation of ethnic cleansing.
“It is clear that the statements of the candidates have a pre-election nature, and there is absolutely no reason to get excited. However, we can remind them of these statements in the future and use them to advance our interests in Washington,” Sargsyan concluded.
