International relations expert: The elections in Georgia decide whether Armenia will ever have a common border with the EU or not
Today’s elections in Georgia decide whether Armenia will ever have a common border with the EU or not, Suren Sargsyan, expert of international relations, said in a Facebook post.
“The elections to be held today in Georgia and the ones due on Nov. 5 in the U.S. will have a profound impact on the foreign policy of Armenia. If the current authorities are re-elected in Georgia, and the former U.S. authorities take over in the United States, it will lead to serious rearrangements in the entire region.
The Trump administration will be passively engaged in our region, which, especially in the case of the victory of the present authorities of Georgia, will significantly increase the opportunities of Russia to act more actively in the South Caucasus, where it has not been actively involved recently,” Sargsyan wrote.
