European Council president urges Georgia to investigate election violations and confirm country’s European course

President of the European Council Charles Michel made a statement regarding the elections in Georgia, noting that the European Council carefully followed and got acquainted with the preliminary assessment of the OSCE/ODIHR elections.

The CEC and other relevant authorities are called upon to immediately investigate all election-related violations and allegations.

Michel urged the Georgian authorities to reaffirm their commitment to the European path, following the conclusions of the June and October European Council meetings.

Constructive and inclusive dialogue between all political forces is especially important now.

The European Council will discuss the situation in November and decide on further steps in the development of relations with Georgia.
