Kobakhidze: The elections went perfectly, but the opposition cannot accept its defeat

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the country’s parliamentary elections were good, even excellent.

He thanked the Central Electoral Commission, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri for all their efforts.

Commenting on the complaints of the opposition, Kobakhidze said that “they simply cannot accept the defeat in the elections, and the NGOs, which have fought for the non-transparency of their own finances, stand by them.”

Yesterday, the opposition parties announced that the elections were rigged and did not recognize the results announced by the CEC. A protest is planned in Tbilisi this evening.
