Peskov: Russia did not interfere in Georgian elections

Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov called the accusations against Russia of allegedly interfering in the parliamentary elections of Georgia groundless.

“It just happens that they start accusing Russia of interference. No, it is not like that, there was no interference… This is the choice of the Georgian people. Now it is very important that third-party countries do not interfere with the results of these elections,” Peskov said.

He also added that he does not know whether Salome Zourabichvili has the right not to accept the results of the vote, but “in any case, it is an internal Georgian issue.”
