Iran calls on the UN Security Council to convene emergency session

Iran has called on the U.N. Security Council to convene an emergency session to condemn Israel.

Israel launched airstrikes against Iran yesterday in response to Iranian attacks earlier this month.

Iranian Ambassador to the U.N. Amir Saeid Iravani said in a letter to the Security Council that Israel’s “illegal and aggressive actions” are a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and “a clear violation of international law and the U.N. Charter.”

Four Iranian soldiers were killed in the attack.
