After the counting of 99.46 percent of the ballots in the Moldovan elections, it became clear that 55.22 percent of the voters cast their ballots for incumbent President Maia Sandu, and 44.78 percent for Stoianoglo, the country’s Central Electoral Commission said.

Sandu announced that it was Moldova that won these elections, thanked his voters in the country and abroad, and promised to be the president of all Moldovans.

The incumbent president has won the elections thanks to the votes received from abroad, while in Moldova, the majority of residents cast their ballots for Stoianoglo.

To remind, the first round of elections took place on Oct. 20.
