Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service: Washington persistently pushes Armenia toward national ‘suicide’

The U.S. State Department has noticeably accelerated the work in the direction of promoting pro-Western civil society organizations in Armenia, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service said.

“In order to achieve the ‘high goal’ of joining the so-called civilized community led by the U.S., the Armenian people, as Washington believes, will have to pay by giving up their own traditions, national social basis and stable trade and economic ties with the Eurasian Economic Union, which has ensured the dynamic growth of its economy in recent years. Thus, Washington persistently pushes Armenia toward national ‘suicide.’

Washington considers it important to strengthen the “guiding influence” on the political elite of Armenia to encourage Yerevan, despite the inevitable difficulties, to accelerate the process of final reorientation, which the Americans plan to implement according to the schemes tested in Ukraine and Moldova,” the agency noted.
