Iran’s Foreign Ministry denies accusations of Tehran’s involvement in assassination attempt against Trump
Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ismail Baghai has said the allegations about Iran’s involvement in the assassination attempts against the representatives of the U.S. authorities are groundless, calling them “Israel’s conspiracy” to complicate relations between Tehran and Washington.
The FBI claims that an unnamed representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) allegedly plotted the assassination of Donald Trump.
“Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ismail Baghai described the allegations about Iran’s involvement in the assassination attempts against former and current U.S. officials as absolutely groundless, rejecting them,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Iran described the “reiteration of those statements” immediately after the U.S. presidential elections as “a disgusting conspiracy by Israel and Iran’s opposition circles, aimed to complicate relations between the United States and Iran.”
Earlier, Donald Trump—without providing details or evidence—accused Iran of allegedly having taken specific but unsuccessful actions against him, noting that it may repeat them. Trump said he is not intimidated by any threat, noting that the American military is “watching and waiting” to see how the situation will develop.
