The leaders of several regions of Russia, including the republics of the North Caucasus and Crimea, have expressed their support for Aslan Bzhania, president of Abkhazia, calling the events of Nov. 15 a coup attempt, RIA Novosti reports, referring to the press service of the president of Abkhazia.
“In a telephone conversation with President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania, heads of several regions of Russia expressed their support for him,” the press service said.
As noted, the leaders wished peace and kindness to the Abkhaz people.
Yesterday, it was reported that Bzhania, who is now in his native village of Tamish, Ochamchira District, is planning to meet with the residents on Nov. 16.
To remind, protests have been taking place in Abkhazia in connection with the project under discussion in the Government.
