Borrell: The EU will discuss the issue of lifting restrictions on strikes against Russia with European weapons

High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has confirmed that on Nov. 18-19, EU foreign and defense ministers will discuss the issue of lifting restrictions on striking Russia with European weapons. Borrell added that he is uncertain about the possible outcome of the move.

“There will be a discussion on this matter, and I hope all ministers will reach an agreement on it. However, if not, each country will do what it believes to be right,” Borrell stated, commenting on media reports that the United States has allowed strikes to be carried out deep within Russian territory using its weapons. The official also noted that he has personally always supported such strikes with European weapons.
