Abkhaz president resigns
Abkhaz President Aslan Bzhania and Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab have resigned following approximately eight hours of negotiations with the opposition, Sputnik Abkhazia reports.
Vice President Badra Gunba will take over as acting president, while former Prime Minister Valeri Bganba will be the head of government. However, this is contingent upon the protesters vacating the government building today; otherwise, the resignations will be withdrawn.
According to media reports, the protesters are leaving. A new president will be elected in snap elections.
