Erdogan calls on NATO to consider Russia’s new nuclear doctrine
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that the recent release of Russia’s updated nuclear doctrine is a response measure, and NATO should think about it.
“I believe that Russia’s stance is primarily a response to the behavior directed against it. This step taken by Russia should be discussed by NATO officials,” the Turkish leader noted.
According to Erdogan, Russia has the force and means to defend itself.
“We must defend ourselves and take measures for our protection in the same way. Ukraine and Russia are our neighbors, and we must maintain our relations with them. I hope we can reach a ceasefire as soon as possible and establish peace,” the Turkish president added.
