Greta Thunberg in Turkey
Swedish environmentalist and activist Greta Thunberg is in Turkey. During her visit, she went to the Diyarbekir Municipality, where she met with local officials to discuss climate change and the impact of global warming on nature. The details of the meeting were revealed through an official announcement from the municipality on the X page.
According to information circulating online, Thunberg was in Turkey on Oct. 25 as well. She met with local eco-activists in Istanbul. As part of her visit to Turkey, the Swedish environmentalist also visited Açık Radio, the broadcasting license of which was revoked by the Radio and Television Supreme Council.
It is worth noting that earlier, Açık Radio announced that the government had decided to close the station after one of the guests spoke live about the Armenian Genocide in one of its broadcasts in March 2024.
Before her visit to Turkey, Greta Thunberg had been in Georgia and Armenia.
