Peskov: Russia is constantly forced to respond to the unprecedented escalation provoked by the US
Russia is constantly forced to respond to the unprecedented escalation provoked by the outgoing U.S. administration, Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin while discussing Russia’s updated nuclear doctrine.
“President Putin is forced to respond to the unprecedented escalation, primarily provoked by Washington’s outgoing administration. We have to do this constantly,” Peskov said.
He noted that the U.S. is taking increasingly reckless actions, escalating tensions over the Ukrainian conflict.
Peskov stated that the decree on the change of Russia’s nuclear doctrine can be viewed as a signal to the West.
“Certainly, there is nothing accidental here. There is a certain regularity,” he said.
