Democracy Now: After ethnic cleansing in Artsakh, Aliyev now pretends not to be a war criminal

Democracy Now program presented a comprehensive report about COP29 held in Baku, focusing on the ethnic cleansing in Artsakh and the Armenian POWs currently held in Azerbaijan. It was noted that ahead of the climate conference, a fact-finding mission had published new research stating that what took place in Artsakh in 2023 was ethnic cleansing.

The war forced more than 100,000 Armenians to flee the region. It was noted that many Armenians were brutally killed by Azerbaijanis, and atrocities continue in Nagorno-Karabakh as Azerbaijan destroys Armenian churches, cultural heritage, and settlements.

As mentioned, Armenia refused to participate in the COP29 conference in Baku because Azerbaijan had refused to release at least 23 Armenian POWs. Now, Aliyev is shaking his hands and pretending not to be a war criminal, the report stated.
