Klimov: What moral and other authorities does Pashinyan have to announce such fateful decisions on behalf of all of Armenia?
All Armenian citizens will defend Pashinyan’s statements about the country’s relations with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Andrey Klimov, deputy chair of Russia’s Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, told reporters.
“I think not everyone in Armenia is delighted with such statements,” Klimov said. He noted that he does not know what moral and other authorities Pashinyan has to announce such fateful decisions on behalf of all of Armenia. The official expressed his conviction that it is better for neighboring countries to rely on good relations with each other than on illusory ties with distant states. Klimov also emphasized that the Armenian people should resolve the issue of membership in the CSTO within the framework of constitutional procedures.
To remind, earlier Nikol Pashinyan stated that “we have passed the point of no return in relations between Armenia and the CSTO” and “in fact, we already consider ourselves outside the CSTO.”
