Peskov: Russia is in constant dialogue with its Syrian partners
The Kremlin is closely monitoring the events occurring in Syria and is in constant dialogue with its Syrian partners, Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said.
“Depending on the assessment of the situation, it will be possible to discuss the level of assistance needed for the Syrian authorities to confront militants and eliminate that threat,” Peskov noted.
On the morning of Nov. 27, Jabhat al-Nusra group launched a large-scale attack in northern Syria. According to a statement from the Armed Forces command, they attempted to assault villages and towns under the protection of the Syrian army and military facilities.
On Nov. 30, the Armed Forces command reported attacks on militant positions that had managed to infiltrate numerous neighborhoods in Aleppo. According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, the Syrian army has been forced to regroup its forces to save the lives of civilians and soldiers and prepare for a counteroffensive.
