Syrian government officially declares willingness to transfer power to militants

The Syrian government has officially announced its readiness to relinquish authority and transfer power to the militants, Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali, the country’s prime minister, said during a broadcast on Al Arabiya.

According to him, negotiations with the armed opposition that has come to power are under way. Al-Jalali noted that the current priority is to provide Syrians with essential supplies.

“We are ready to hand over our authority at any moment upon request,” the Syrian prime minister noted.
